Senior Release Engineer

GitLab is hiring a senior release engineer into its Enterprise Technology and AI group, working remotely from India. The team builds reusable CI/CD patterns for the enterprise systems that run the business, including Salesforce and Zuora, so changes to those platforms ship the same way application code does. You would own the pipelines, the promotion process and the controls wrapped around them.

What you would work on - Building and maintaining delivery pipelines that validate, test, deploy and roll back enterprise applications - Writing reusable automation in scripting languages to take manual steps out of every release - Setting the standard CI/CD patterns used for Salesforce, Zuora and other business systems - Defining how changes move through development, test, staging and production environments - Adding approval gates, audit trails and policy checks that satisfy security and compliance stakeholders - Investigating failed deployments, running root cause analysis and coaching teams on the tooling

What they are looking for - A degree in computer science or information systems, or an equivalent practical background - Seven or more years in release engineering, DevOps or a closely related discipline - Production experience with GitLab CI/CD or a comparable pipeline product - Python or a similar scripting language used day to day - Hands on use of AI assisted development and automation tools, which the posting lists as mandatory - Working knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, JSON and authentication patterns, plus branching and artefact management
