Terms of Use

The terms under which you use this site and its community features. Last updated September 2026.

Acceptance

By using DevOps Society you agree to these terms. If you create a member account, you also agree to our Privacy Policy, which explains how your data is handled and, importantly, that your profile is private by default and never sold or shared in bulk.

Your account

  • Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Verify your email when asked, and keep your password confidential.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account. Maintain one account per person.
  • You must be old enough to consent to processing of your data in your country (at least 16).
  • We may suspend or remove accounts that breach these terms or are used abusively.

Content you provide

You keep ownership of the profile details, notes and résumé you upload. You confirm the information is accurate, is yours to share, and does not infringe anyone’s rights or contain unlawful, misleading or malicious content.

You grant us a limited licence to store this content and to share it only as directed by your own actions, for example when you apply to a role or register for an event. We do not use it for any other purpose.

Applying to roles & expressing interest

When you apply to or express interest in a specific role, you choose to share your profile and résumé with that employer for that role only. You can withdraw at any time, which stops the sharing.

We are a community and platform, not a recruiter. We do not guarantee that an employer will respond, or any particular outcome. Employers are independent third parties responsible for their own hiring processes and for handling your information in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Events

When you register for an event, your name and email are shared with the event host so they can run the event. The host is responsible for the event and for their use of your details. You can cancel a registration at any time.

Employers & partners

Employers, sponsors and partners never receive the member database or a bulk export. You may access a member’s details only when that member has taken an explicit action (applying, expressing interest, or registering for your event), and you must use those details solely for the specific opportunity or event disclosed to the member. You must not resell, redistribute or retain the data beyond what is necessary, and you must comply with applicable data-protection law.

Acceptable use

  • Don’t attempt to access data or accounts that aren’t yours.
  • Don’t scrape, bulk-collect, or harvest member data or content.
  • Don’t interfere with the site’s operation or security, or bypass rate limits.
  • Don’t use the platform to send spam or unlawful content.

Editorial content

Articles are published for your personal, non-commercial reading. You may link to and quote our work with attribution. Republishing full articles requires permission. Technical content is provided for information only, test everything in your own environment before relying on it in production. We make no warranty as to its accuracy or fitness for any purpose.

Liability

The site and its features are provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, DevOps Society is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site, employment outcomes, or the acts of employers, hosts or other third parties.

Termination & changes

You can delete your account at any time from Privacy & data in your dashboard; deletion anonymizes your data and revokes active sharing. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, and may update the terms as the platform grows, continued use means you accept the current terms.
