Senior Site Reliability Engineer
MongoDB·Gurugram, India
MongoDB is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in Gurugram to support a newly built AI application platform. The SRE group owns the operational layer beneath it: the Kubernetes fleet, the networking, the observability and alerting, and the boundaries that keep tenants separated. You would be one of the engineers accountable for keeping customer workloads on that platform healthy.
What you would work on - Running and improving multi-tenant Kubernetes infrastructure that hosts customer workloads side by side - Designing services so that failures are contained and recovered from automatically rather than escalated to a human - Working out which signals genuinely indicate a service is unhealthy, then wiring those into detection and alerting - Taking a turn in a round the clock on-call rota covering platform level incidents - Acting as a technical reference point for less experienced SREs as the team grows - Removing manual steps wherever automation or a simpler design would do the job
What they are looking for - At least six years building and operating distributed systems in production - Working fluency in Python, Go or a comparable language - Real Kubernetes operational depth, including the ability to debug beneath the usual abstractions - Hands on experience with at least one major cloud provider, AWS, GCP or Azure - Comfort with Linux internals and the networking stack, covering TCP/IP, DNS, TLS and routing - Willingness to join the 24/7 rota; this is a hybrid post and candidates need to be based in Gurugram
Kubernetes networking with Istio or Cilium, service mesh work, edge load balancing, secure multi-tenant environments, multi-cloud management and workload isolation are all listed as useful additions rather than hard requirements.
Stack: Kubernetes, Python, Go, AWS, GCP, Azure, Linux, TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, Istio, Cilium
