Senior Staff Platform Engineer

Zscaler's IT Data Strategy department is hiring a senior staff platform engineer to build and run the enterprise cloud infrastructure behind its production AI and machine learning workloads. The role covers infrastructure automation, observability and the platform governance standards that other teams build against, based in Bangalore or Pune.

What you would work on - Building and maintaining AWS infrastructure for AI and ML workloads with Terraform: EKS, Lambda, ECS, VPC and IAM - Owning GitLab CI/CD for the AI platform services, including build, test, security scanning and multi-environment promotion - Setting up centralised observability in Prometheus and Grafana, with golden signal dashboards and considered alerting - Leading incident response, root cause analysis and postmortems, and driving MTTA and MTTR down - Tracking DORA metrics and using them to argue for delivery and reliability changes - Making the Kubernetes estate self healing, auto scaling and cost aware, and mentoring other engineers through design and code review

What they are looking for - Eight or more years as a platform engineer, site reliability engineer or DevOps engineer - At least three years supporting AI, machine learning or data platform infrastructure - Deep hands on AWS experience across EKS, Lambda, ECS, VPC, IAM and S3 - Strong Terraform practice including modules, workspaces and remote state - Prometheus and Grafana depth, custom exporters included, plus on-call and alerting design with Alertmanager, PagerDuty or Opsgenie - Kubernetes on EKS with Helm and autoscaling, scripting in Python, Go or Bash, and demonstrated curiosity about AI tooling

This is an on-site role based in Bangalore or Pune.
