SRE / Observability Engineer (Splunk)

Metrix IT is hiring an SRE and Observability Engineer with Splunk AIOps experience for an onsite contract in Raritan, New Jersey. You will design and roll out observability for microservices and distributed systems, from tracing to SLOs.

What you would work on

• Implementing Splunk Observability Cloud: APM, infrastructure monitoring, RUM and Log Observer

• Setting up OpenTelemetry collectors, processors, exporters and instrumentation

• Building distributed tracing, span analysis and service dependency maps

• Using Splunk Enterprise and ITSI for integrated observability

• Defining SLIs, SLOs and service health scoring with application teams

• Supporting workloads on Kubernetes, Docker, AWS and Azure

What they are looking for

• Hands-on Splunk AIOps and Splunk Observability Cloud (mandatory)

• Strong OpenTelemetry knowledge

• Linux/Unix skills with Python and Bash scripting

• Experience designing observability for microservices and APIs

• Preferred: Splunk Observability or OpenTelemetry certification, and Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog or New Relic

• Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, GitOps or CI/CD
