Posted Sep 21, 2026

Zscaler is hiring a Staff Site Reliability Engineer into its Cloud Infrastructure and Operations group, working remotely from the Netherlands. The team builds and runs the scalable platforms behind Zscaler's services, leaning heavily on automation and on meeting strict security standards. The post reports to a Senior Director of Software Engineering.

What you would work on - Building and maintaining large scale platforms running on KVM based Linux hosts, Kubernetes and public cloud - Diagnosing performance problems and faults that span the operating system and the applications above it - Keeping the platform secure and observable, including packet filtering with nftables and the monitoring tooling around it - Deploying and managing systems and software across mixed environments, Kubernetes and OpenStack among them - Writing automation in Python, Go and shell to replace manual operational work

What they are looking for - At least five years in a Linux or UNIX system administration role - Hands on experience with container orchestration, Docker and Kubernetes in particular - A solid grounding in networking: DHCP, ARP, subnetting, routing, NAT, firewalls, IPv4 and IPv6 - Good understanding of web security and protocols, including SSH - Working knowledge of security primitives such as PGP, SSH, PKI and multi factor authentication - Active curiosity about AI tooling and how it can be applied to the work

Stack: Linux, KVM, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack, CEPH, Ansible, HashiCorp Vault, nftables, Python, Golang, Bash

Compensation: The employer publishes a range of 70,000 to 100,000 EUR.
