Staff Software Development Engineer - DevOps
Zscaler·Bengaluru, India
Zscaler is hiring a staff level DevOps engineer into its Identity team in Bangalore, reporting to a senior engineering manager. The role covers both the development and the infrastructure demands of how Identity services are built and hosted, with real influence over how the systems are put together.
What you would work on - Provisioning Zscaler services onto public cloud, across AWS and GCP, using Kubernetes, Helm and Terraform - Checking that what gets deployed satisfies the company's security compliance requirements - Working with the team to keep cloud spend under control and utilisation sensible - Designing and implementing the CI/CD pipelines the team ships through - Bringing software engineers along with DevOps practice rather than owning it in isolation
What they are looking for - A foundational understanding of AI and machine learning, with experience using, securing or positioning AI driven solutions - Experience hosting 24x7 services on AWS, with GCP optional, automated through Terraform, CloudFormation or Ansible - Kubernetes resource management via Helm charts, and day to day use of GitLab or comparable CI/CD tooling - Working database knowledge, SQL generally with PostgreSQL preferred, plus cloud architecture building blocks such as message queuing, in memory caches and load balancing - A bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering, and the posting states US citizenship is required because of the secure nature of the work - A hybrid arrangement with three days a week in the Bangalore office
AIOps or AI driven predictive scaling, proficiency with Prometheus, Grafana and Alertmanager, and a record of optimising highly available cloud services and their cost are listed as preferred rather than essential.
Stack: AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, GitLab, SQL, PostgreSQL, Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager
